                                                            Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson was born on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California to Keith and Mary Hudson. As a child, Katy attended Christian schools and camps. Since her parents were pastors, she was very involved with the church like singing in the church choir between the ages of nine and seventeen. Instead of listening to the popular songs, she grew up listening to gospel music and also learned to dance appropriately too. She made her GED after her first year at Dos Pueblos High School and then decided to drop out to pursue her music career. Just like her sister, Katy would practice singing in front of the mirror using cassette tapes. She began taking lessons at age nine until sixteen.
When Katy was 15, her singing attracted Nashville Rock veterans who wanted to bring her back to Nashville to polish her up. There, she started to record demos and was taught country music and how to play the guitar. At 17, Katy left her home to go work with producer Glen Ballard on an album for Island Records. She was working on an album that was planned to be released in Fall 2004. The album was due for release in 2005 but Billboard reported it also went nowhere so then Island Def Jam Music group dropped her. After a little while of being signed to Columbia she was dropped in 2006. She worked with Dr.Luke on a new single. Everyone said that she would most likely be dropped again but Dennis Reese made sure that her single would make it to the radio.  After releasing some singles, now she just released "Teenage Dream: Complete Confection".
